Every once in a while, two different animals will mate together and create a hybrid. One of the most popular ones in recent years has been the liger – a combination of a tiger and a lion. Though this isn’t something encouraged, it can happen naturally.
In 2014, a sheep named Mama mated with Michael, who was an adorable goat. Even though sheep and goats aren’t that different, they don’t usually mate with one another. The two were part of a petting zoo in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mama successfully gave birth to a precious baby geep named Butterfly. The goat and sheep combination, geep, shocked the owners of the petting zoo. Since they didn’t have a male sheep, they didn’t even realize that Mama was pregnant.
The little cutie has the feet and face of a goat but has the adorable fluffy wool of a sheep. For all we know, Butterfly is the only geep in the world. We can’t get enough of her cuteness and hope she lives a long and happy life.
