Pit bulls are an unbelievably misunderstood and underappreciated breed of dog. There is a common misconception that they are inherently vicious, violent, and erratically unstable. It is because of these notions and stereotypes that many people believe pit bulls are unfit to be around other animals or small children. Many people hesitate to consider them as a family pet, and this leads to many unfortunate pit bulls that are in need of a good home.
The truth is quite the opposite. Pit bulls can be just as good or just as bad as any other dog. It has far more to do with the training and upbringing than it does with the actual breed of dog. Yes, it is true that these dogs have the potential to be harmful and dangerous, but so do many other breeds of large dogs. Unfortunately, since many people who decide to own pit bulls are the type of people who are okay with having a vicious and violent dog, this upbringing allows them to become the very thing that society says they are, and this ultimately turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The incredible pit bull in this video is clearly a powerful and intimidating dog, but what is amazing about him is that he is trained and knows exactly when to shift between being gentle and cuddly and being strong and powerful. One night, when loud screaming could be heard in the neighborhood, this dog knew that something was seriously wrong. A man had returned to the house that he had been kicked out of and was dragging his wife out to his car. Immediately, this pit bull ran out of the house and stopped this man, possibly saving this woman’s life. What is even more incredible is that just after this incident he went right back into the house to be the fun and playful dog for this family including their small children.
