There are many things we use in our homes to make our living spaces smell good that might be dangerous for our bird pets. Any diffused scents, whether from incense, air-freshening sprays, or wax melts — all of these are deadly for birds in general and parrots specifically. This includes strong scents like eucalyptus and pine.
On the subject of what is safe, things like vanilla, cinnamon, and citrus are great elements to use to make your house smell good. Cinnamon sticks can be put in a closed container with holes in the lid, citrus can be boiled on the stove, and vanilla extract can be poured onto a cotton ball and placed in a dish.
