Using lava rock he drilled a hole through, this man built a custom aquarium that uses a faux volcano to circulate the water. Watch him transform an empty box into a beautiful volcanic oasis for his fish.
The first part of the video shows how to drill a hole through a piece of lava rock. For this particular project, he uses three diamond-tipped drill bits of varying sizes to create a sort of funnel-shaped hole in the rock. Then he drills three holes for legs so that he can hide the pump intake under the rocks at the bottom of his custom tank.
His plant choices for this build are quite numerous. He chose several types of aquatic plants, as they are the key to creating a virtually self-sustaining aquatic environment. My personal favorite was his adorable little pygmy chain sword plants.
