Meet Spitfire, The Whippet Who Is Dominating The Sport Of Dog Diving

One of the greatest athletes currently competing today isn’t a tennis player or a football great — he’s a dog. Spitfire is the world’s best dog diver, with 21 world records under his collar to prove it. He runs faster and jumps higher than any other dog in the sport, but it’s his 15-year-old handler Sydney Mackey who’s the real star.

In today’s sport of dog diving, Spitfire is at the top of the pack. He has been competing for
3 years, and in that time he’s beaten 21 world records. On the deck, before jumping he can reach speeds of about 30 miles per hour, and when he launched into the air he has a high jump 8ft 6 inches.

He is faster and jumps higher than any other dog in the world. But Spitfire can’t take all the credit. His owner and trainer is the real star of the show. 15-year-old Sydney Mackey is Spitfire’s biggest fan, and her love and support inspire him to be the best dog he can be.
