Most people have heard the phrase “man’s best friend” when referring to dogs. They get along perfectly with the majority of people and bring a lot of love into our lives. Canines are also known for having the ability to make friends with just about any animal as well.
While pups may become friends with cats more often than other critters, this family’s dog was about to experience something completely different. They adopted a precious pygmy hedgehog and hoped their Pomeranian Nimbus would get along with the little critter.
Poki-Hontas is an African pygmy hedgehog that’s no bigger than the palm of your hand. The family slowly and gently introduced the tiny exotic animal into their home to ensure that Nimbus didn’t see it as a toy or even a snack.
Thankfully, the unlikely duo became friends fast. Nimbus couldn’t keep her eyes off Poki-Hontas as she rolled around the carpet and played with empty toilet paper rolls. While they’re not going to be cuddling up anytime soon, you can tell that they love each other.
