They Had Plans To Travel When They Retired, But Started A Horse Shelter Instead

Larry and Peggy Neaves are an average retired couple who wished to travel the world together in their retirement years. However, an unexpected turn of events changed their lives forever. Instead of traveling, this old couple decided to do something even more meaningful.

So, I may have exaggerated the ‘averageness’ of this incredible couple. In fact, these two have dedicated their lives to serving their country. Peggy, prior to retirement, was a U.S. Customs officer, while Larry is a former FBI agent.

While they had initially had the plan to travel the world together in their retirement, Peggy and Larry changed their plans completely. Together they decided to dedicate the rest of their lives to care for horses that had been abused and neglected.

Larry and Peggy built up a sanctuary for the horses they were rescuing, naming it Habitat for Horses. They have many tragic stories of the horses they have rescued so far, but the future they are giving the horses is what everything is about.

The story in the video below is really touching. This couple changed their life plans to help animals in need, and if that isn’t noble, I don’t know what is. Don’t miss their story, and the stories of the horse lives they have changed in the video below.
