When this video starts, we find 31 horses caught on a tiny island in a flash flood. The water rose very quickly and trapped these animals. Now they have mere minutes to live before the water becomes fatal.
Will Barrett and his young sons realized that they could help the horses and they immediately saddled up. They rode for more than a mile in waters up to 4 feet deep to collect the missing heard.
Severe weather had blown through the county over the previous few days, and when the family came home from a family outing, they found that the horses were in a terrible predicament. More than 10 inches of rain had swept through the ranch and put the horses all into mortal danger.
These Texas cowboys are true heroes. Especially to those 31 horses. Well done, indeed.
