A video has recently surfaced of a rescue that will tug at the heartstrings of animal lovers everywhere. In this emotional and captivating footage, a team of rescuers work tirelessly to free a dog that had been left on the sidewalk for an unknown period of time. Covered in a mound of dirt and feces, the dog was barely recognizable as a living being. However, what made the rescue even more remarkable was the fact that the dog did not make a single sound or move a muscle during the entire ordeal.
The dog’s rescuer, Valia of The Orphan Pet, had responded to a text asking for help for the dog. When she first saw the dog, she was filled with disgust at the stench and filth that surrounded him. However, her disgust soon turned to empathy as she realized that the furry lump in front of her was a living, breathing creature in desperate need of help. She named the dog “Julian” and took him home to give him the care he so desperately needed.
What followed was a four-hour ordeal in which rescuers worked to remove the dog’s “dirt armor.” Remarkably, Julian did not make a sound or move a muscle during the entire process. It was as though he had given up on life entirely. However, his rescuers refused to give up on him. They worked tirelessly to remove every last bit of dirt and grime from his fur until he was finally clean and free.
It turns out that Julian is an old poodle with a heart condition, half deaf and half blind. He’s not the most well-mannered dog out there, but his rescuer says that’s okay. Some rescues, she notes, get an imperfect ending. However, Julian is the best version of himself that ever was, imperfections and all.
As of the time of this video, Julian is still looking for a home. His age and heart condition put off many potential adopters, but those who take the time to get to know him will find a loyal and loving companion. So, if you’re looking for a furry friend to share your life with, consider giving Julian a chance. And if you can’t adopt him, please consider sharing his story on social media or “pinning” the video because his story deserves to be heard. Because, in the end, it’s not about being perfect. It’s about being imperfectly perfect, just like Julian.
Share this because you can make someone’s day.
