While many wild animals are prey and predators to one another, some species can form a unique bond. Chimpanzees are a lot like humans and can express compassion and care for another wild animal.
Jenny and Jim Desmond are owners of the Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue in West Africa. Jenny found a helpless puppy that was on the brink of death one day when she was driving. She acted quickly and brought the precious pup back to her rescue.
Snafu, the puppy, had a myriad of medical needs that required immediate attention. They weren’t sure if she was going to make it, but soon enough started seeing visible positive signs that she was recovering.
Some of the chimpanzees took the adorable pup in as one of their own and gave her the motherly love she needed. Even as the dog continued to grow, the primates loved her all the same. Eventually, Jenny found Snafu a safe and caring forever home in Colorado.
