While on vacation in Hawaii, Amanda and her kids meet some special needs dogs looking for loving homes. First, she meets and names a pair of Catahoula Leopard dogs, where the mom is deaf but her baby is not.
When she takes the momma Catahoula dog to the beach for the first time, they meet up with another of the same breed who is both deaf and blind. From her trainer, they learn some of the ways you can train a dog that cannot hear or see.
