Oliver the Beagle puppy has a lot to learn about the world in which he lives, including how to descend a flight of stairs. Fortunately, he has a patient and understanding dad willing to help him over his fear of tumbling head-over-heels to the bottom. Oliver’s guardian passes the ultimate test of patience when the pup eventually surrenders to the call of nature.
Little Oliver possesses all the charms of a puppy. He is a cute little people-pleaser, ready to learn the ropes of living in his dad’s home. Sometimes education comes with obstacles, such as fear of the unknown. As a loving and patient dad, Oliver’s guardian gives plenty of encouragement to help the nervous Beagle pup overcome his trepidation of going head-first down a set of stairs.
Several times, Oliver faces his anxiety, descending a few stairs before stopping and whining to communicate his increased apprehension. Each time, his dad responds with good-natured reassurance before Oliver retreats back up the stairs.
When it comes to puppies, sometimes persistence is rewarded with the result we are seeking. As Oliver’s dad learns though, other times our reward comes in the form of laughter at the sheer adorability of our pups’ haplessness…and possibly their small bladders. As you can see from the video, even mid-lesson, pups will be pups.
