Ten months of living in a shelter are enough to wear even the most resilient dog out. Juice, a bullmastiff mix, was no exception. Though he managed to keep his spirits up for a long time, eventually, life just got to be too much.
Maryland’s Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center (MCASAC) talked about Juice in a Facebook post a while back, commenting on how he’d begun to let the stress get to him. It was around the same time that Juice finally found a home.
But it wasn’t meant to be. The family that adopted him returned him just a few days later. “It wasn’t the right match, and after a couple of days, he was back in his kennel, more stressed than ever. Staff started to notice him crying, panting and pacing more often,” MCASAC said.
One of the staff decided to bring Juice home for the night to give him a break. When she brought the dog back to the shelter in the morning, Juice started crying. And he didn’t stop. MCASAC shared a video of his plaintive cries online, and the video went viral.
Immediately, offers of adoption started rolling in. Finally, Juice found his forever home. Watch Juice’s reaction to going back to the shelter in the video below. It is sure good to know he finally found a fur-ever home.
