One of nature’s greatest gifts is the ability of different species of animals to become friends. While pairs like cats and dogs are common, a fluffy Pomeranian named Nimbus becomes close with a little hedgehog.
Dogs are patient and gentle creatures that have earned the nickname “Man’s best friend.” When canines are introduced to smaller animals like guinea pigs, hedgehogs, or rabbits, they instinctively can see the critter as prey.
Thankfully, when Nimbus’ owner brought home a small new friend, he had plenty of self-control. Poki-Hontas is the name of the African pygmy hedgehog that was soon to become Nimbus’ adopted sibling.
After a slow and gentle greeting, Poki was running around the floor in no time. Her furry pup friend spent a lot of time watching him get out all of his excess energy. Now, the pair love to spend time together and have become practically inseparable.
