We are not all born knowing what we want to do. When Ricochet was born, she was entered into the Puppy Prodigies Neo-natal & Early Learning program. Under a watchful eye, she trained to be a service dog.
It’s true that there is no calling more noble than caring for those in need. But it’s not always that simple. It takes the right kind of dog to become a service dog, and ricochet was too adventurous, high-spirited, and riotous.
Not everyone’s talent lies in what people expect they might do. Ricochet was not a good fit for the program. As much as she wanted to help people in need she simply was not cut out for it. Now she has a called much more aligned with her desires.
