Woman Succeeds in Saving Kitten Against the Odds

Jodie Michele of the UK found a sickly little tabby kitten in her garden with a scabbed over nose and eyes pasted closed from infection. Unable to see her, but apparently seeking comfort from the gentle voice of the woman, the kitten meowed loudly and made a beeline toward Jodie.

The kitten was frigid and puny, so Jodie spent the morning trying to warm her, and then took her to a veterinarian during her lunch break. The report from the veterinarian was bleak. The kitten was severely malnourished and underweight with a bad case of feline influenza. The vet gave her a 50 percent chance at survival and recommended euthanasia.

Jodie could see the spirit in the little kitten and wanted to give her best effort to save her life. She assumed the rigorous round-the-clock feedings every two hours that the baby would need, and began her on the antibiotics and eye-cleaning ritual recommended by the veterinarian.

Within a week, the kitten who had been at death’s door rebounded. She doubled in size and weight and her energy level skyrocketed. No longer sightless, the kitty’s eyes were almost completely clear. Jodie put her very soul and all her energy into saving the little feline life, with tremendous results. The petite girl has made a complete recovery and is happy and healthy.
