While it’s normal for most animals to stick to their species without venturing out, now and then, there’s a heartwarming story of compassion. When a momma cat cares for a group of helpless hedgehogs, you’ll have to hold back tears.
A beautiful orange cat named Sonya has already had a litter of her own, helping her with natural maternal instincts. When she met a handful of hungry hedgehogs, she still had milk leftover from her kittens to feed them.
The famished hedgehogs immediately took to the courteous cat and drank up as much milk as they could. Sonya also decided to care for the little spikey critters in other ways and adopt them as one of her own.
Now, the two different species love to cuddle together, walk around their home, and enjoy meals. While there’s no substitute for a mother’s love, we think this friendly feline did a fantastic job of raising these little cuties.
