Country Cowdog Sings Backup for Owner’s AGT Audition and Steals the Show

Country singer Chris Petersen impressed the “America’s Got Talent” judges with his effortless singing, but they might have been even more impressed by Syd, the singer’s cowdog who offered background vocals from the middle seat during his audition.

Chris auditioned from his pickup truck in Cedar City, Utah, and he brought along his best friend, Syd, who offers not only companionship but canine harmony. Judges Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum likewise brought their pups along to watch the audition from home.

Chris, a graphic designer, and Syd performed what Heidi called a “heartwarming” take on Chris Ledoux’s “Look at You Girl.” Chris said if he were to win the show, he’d use the winnings to start up an equine therapy service for people with disabilities.

As for Syd, she plans to continue her work as a cowdog, even though Chris said she’s actually scared of cows. The duo was voted through unanimously, with Simon’s dog Squiddly even tossing in a fifth “yes” vote.
