Many studies have shown that spending time around animals really does have a positive effect on our general wellbeing. Some studies even suggest that dog ownership can improve your cardiovascular health and others suggest that dogs can have a positive influence on your sleep.
Research also suggests that men are especially reluctant to discuss their feelings and seek support on mental health issues. But Rob Osman is attempting to change that. Osman, based in Bristol, UK, is the founder of Dudes & Dogs, a mental wellness initiative aiming to get men walking and talking. Reflecting how much walking with his puppy, Mali, helped him through his anxiety and depression, Osman realized he could help reduce the stigma of men reaching out for help. Sometimes, a walk and talk can do wonders. And, it is of course even better than when you are walking with your canine best buddy.
