Sgt Canvas, who served multiple tours in Iraq, was trained to sniff out up to 70 different bombs. She tried to save her master. ‘As I was walking towards those stairs I saw her run out of the corner of my eye and give me a signal that there was a bomb there but – I already had my foot on it.’
But her family had to make a hard choice recently. As a result, the small town of Minden came together Friday to support the Marine who earned a Purple Heart in Afghanistan and his beloved K-9 partner. Thank you for your service, Sgt Canvas and Cpl Moseley. We’re thinking of you during this difficult time.
