Squidget was found in a parking lot of an apartment complex. The little pup was curled up next to a dumpster and was very small at just over two pounds. The rescuers from Michigan Humane Society brought her to the Detroit Center for Animal Care. They found out that though Squidget looked very tiny, she was actually not a puppy, but an eight-month-old dog.
This little cutie had quite matted hair, so they had to shave her, and after that, she looked even smaller. You could see the poor little thing’s ribs, but she was wagging her tail and looked happy to be with so many people giving her attention.
The people at the humane society all agreed she needed to go into a foster home and gain some weight before being adopted. After she received her vaccinations and a bath, she went into foster care. She is a bit shy, but she is alert, and no doubt, makes a good companion. She alerts people when someone new comes into the room, and she loves to cuddle.
Everyone was sure she would be adopted soon, and sure enough, Squidget got adopted a few weeks later. This little dog is a survivor. She is happy and healthy now and is a wonderful companion to her new family.
