There are plenty of reasons why animals become friends with critters outside of their species. While some may do it for survival, another will due it out of loneliness. When a pigeon and chihuahua met, it was a heartwarming duo waiting to happen.
Herman is a rescue pigeon that doesn’t have the ability to fly. It wasn’t long before the flightless bird met an adorable 10-week-old chihuahua named Lundy, who couldn’t walk. While the two friends may be unusual, their friendship seems meant to be.
These adorable buddies met at the Mia Foundation in Rochester, New York. This is a non-profit that focuses on rehabilitating animals that are born with congenital disabilities. While most animals get medical attention and are released into the wild, Herman was a permanent resident of Mia.
He welcomed Lundy, with open arms and gave him the love and compassion that the pup needed. It’s a special moment to see these two friends play and nap together. We can’t get enough of these two viral besties.
