During a walk, a family found a box taped all over. They heard strange noises coming from the box and noticed a hole ripped in it. A tiny paw poked out through the hole.
Carefully, they cut through the tape, and a striped kitten’s head poked up through the flaps of the cardboard box. Someone had gone through the trouble of trapping this sweet kitten in a box, taping it up, and abandoning it on a hill.
When the kitten emerged, the family thought the animal was blind because her eyes were so crusted over. Her skin and fur were so dry and unhealthy.
The kitten let the family bathe her right away. After getting cleaned, they took the kitten to the vet, and she got her the care she desperately needed. They gave the cat a support stuffed animal (a cute bunny) for the ride.
Over time, the kitten grew healthier, her fur coat now shiny. Once the cat, now named Phoenix, was well enough, the family decided to introduce her to everyone else in the home. That meant their large dogs.
The family began with their golden retriever Raine since her demeanor was calm. They hoped Phoenix would relax and see the dog meant her no harm. Next came the family’s more energetic dog, Olive.
Though the family admits Olive is obsessed with Phoenix, they’re delighted with their fur family. Phoenix has progressed so much and is the perfect addition.
