It is heartwarming to see people unite together to help abandoned animals. We have all seen a number of amazing rescues, but sometimes you come across a totally different change of scene that makes you feel some really strong emotions. My blood boiled to unhealthy temperatures when I heard this news.
In January of 2013, a garbage bag was seen around Conroe, Texas tied to a fence. Upon closer inspection, it was found that a dog was shot in the face by a shotgun and tied in the bag. He was then left for dead in near freezing temperatures. What kind of monster could do that to an animal?
Thankfully, a good Samaritan named Tami Augustyn immediately took the dog to Animal Emergency Clinic. The poor dog, now affectionately called Buck, had been shot in the face, including both his eyes and inside his mouth, with birdshot fragments. This left him either temporarily or permanently blind and he will require a specialist to evaluate his eyes. Buck also needed x-rays of his hind legs to determine why he couldn’t walk.
Buck has the sweetest face you can imagine, and he is clearly grateful to Tami for rescuing him and taking him to the vet. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him and Tami was fundraising to pay for his x-rays and eye evaluation and treatment to see if his eyesight can be restored.
Buck is now doing well, but the poor guy went through heck because of the cruelty of some insolent abuser. Watch the story below. What are your thoughts about this? Share in the comments!
