Most veterans when they return from being deployed are plagued by Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This condition can make living absolutely unbearable, there are different methods to help people who suffer from this problem, and animal therapy has shown a great degree of success.
There are plenty of examples of amazing and noble animals that through their kindness and temperament lend a helping paw to humans, allowing them to overcome their emotional wounds. Dogs and horses are one of the most successful furry friends! However we want to share with you the story of a unusual program.
Meet Warriors and Wolves, it’s as incredible as you might expect: a program that eases veteran’s emotional pain through interactions with wolves!
Lockwood Animal Rescue Center is a facility that runs one such programs! Located in Frazier Park, California, they dedicate themselves to helping veterans move on through animal therapy, specifically with wolves!
Being around these majestic, self-sufficient and noble creatures forges a feeling of one-ness with nature that allows the suffering veterans to forget their pain and believe in the hope of a better tomorrow. The reason behind this is that they feel part of the greater picture!
It can be a bit daunting to reconciliate the idea of wolves as a very wild animal with their potential as a healing force. However once you see this video and the actual interactions of the animals with the veterans and the positive results, your heart will definitely melt!
Please share this innovating therapy with all your friends
