Dogs are wonderful creatures that seem to brighten up any room they are in, as you probably already know. In an ad that is sure to tug at your heartstrings, presented by Pedigree, this video will bring a tear to your eye.
As far as ads go, this one is really special and resonates with me as a dog lover. A team of people started a project to raise funds for Pet Rescue, a free non-profit service that looks to rescue animals in need. This ad went viral with the hashtag #HeartsAligned to prompt and encourage people to donate for a worthy cause.
From small amounts ranging from a dollar to a maximum of A$20,000, many people donated for this cause. But, they did reveal an interesting thing. They measured the heart rates of the humans and their pets, from when they were seated alone and away from their pet pooches, to the point of reconciliation and after.
It’s amazing to see proof of concept – of how the heart rates mirrored each other’s – the dogs and their owners. I’m not sure if this proves scientifically if our heart rates start to mirror our pets, but it does bring to light just how valued they are in our lives and what a difference they bring to us.
This is a great video, designed to touch and affect us, to make us aware of our furry companions and also to value the benefits they bring to our lives. Of course, I’m sure our heartbeats go wildly out of sync if they’ve broken something precious, but let’s not go there, shall we? Now I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
