Puppy mills are a horrible problem in America; these poor animals are bred by the thousands in horrible conditions, all so the puppy mill owners can have a faster turnaround and make more money from unsuspecting buyers.
With so many rescue animals waiting for their new ‘forever homes,’ it’s heartbreaking to realize just how many beautiful little puppies are being passed over every single day. Sometimes, but not often enough, these puppy mills are ‘busted’ by the authorities, and the puppy mill owners are arrested for their multiple animal abuse crimes.
But when all is said and done, there are often hundreds of little puppies left behind in need of love and support – and dozens of exhausted mothers who have been used and abused time and time again. Luckily, there are amazing people out there in the world who have made it their life’s mission to look after animals in need.
Groups like ‘National Mill Dog Rescue,’ who have made it their mission to rehabilitate and re-home retired commercial breeding dogs from the puppy mills who made their lives so miserable. When no one else was there to take care of these poor mothers, this group gives the dogs a second chance to find the love they deserve so much.
In this video, we get to see the heart-warming moment when Willow and Star experience a warm bed and sweaters for the first time in their lives after being trapped in cages for the first six years of their lives.
