Cat Decides He Wants To Live At This Nursing Home So They Gave Her A Job

Cats are very different from dogs in all sorts of ways. First, they are very independent. They will not be nagging for your attention unless they really like you. One myth is that a cat will think they own every corner of your house. This is not at all true. They will pick a couple of spots and make it their own favorite spaces, but they will respect yours (at least mine does).

Cats are very lovable. They like to give and receive love and are the perfect companions for people of all ages. Sometimes they can even get a job. Yes, that’s right. The cat in the following video did just that.

Meet Oreo. Oreo is a black and white rescue cat who decided she really liked living outside St. Augustine Health Ministries in Cleveland, Ohio. In fact, she liked it so much she had no intention of leaving. And so, the staff invited her into the nursing home and gave her a job (well, so to speak).

Nowadays, you will see Oreo sitting at the reception desk (to help after hours and of course report on any cat-scans), waiting with a resident who is getting a ride somewhere, and even goes on rounds with the security officer. But mostly, Oreo is just a fantastic companion to the nursing home residents and staff.

Check out Oreo’s sweet story in the video we have posted below. She is clearly quite the ‘celebrity’ at St. Augustine’s and is adored by everyone. How delightful that she chose them, and they chose her right back. What a happy and sweet story, indeed.
