Injured Veteran Can’t Work Without His Service Dog, So Lowe’s Hired Them Both

Clay Luthy, an Air Force veteran, is the owner of Charlotte, a beautiful service dog who helps Clay when situations arise that may trigger Clay’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Clay was deployed three times, and on his last return had to have knee surgery that prevented him from continuing his service.

Clay didn’t want to just sit around, though. He wanted to work. Finding work with a service dog was challenging, however. Then Clay applied for a position at his local Lowe’s in Abilene, Texas. The hiring manager decided that Clay and Charlotte were a perfect fit for their store. At the time this video was made, they have been happily working together for two months.

The video below tells the story of Clay and Charlotte, their bond, and the fantastic opportunity to work together.
