There are many different situations when someone can want to be your friend. When it comes to these situations you have many different options. Whether you choose to snub them or you choose to befriend them, it’s not always easy. Friendship is a two-way street. If you don’t do your best to be a good friend you can find yourself in the situation where someone is mad at you over your promise to be a good friend. Yet there are other ways to go about it. You could choose not to be their friends at all. When it comes to these instances, you can find a lot of push back. Sometimes, they won’t accept that answer. Sometimes they will think that they know better than you. Other times, someone will force themselves into your life. Then they will try to back out over time. You have to approach them with the same zeal that they approached you with the first time. You have to let them know that just as they wouldn’t let you go from being their friend, you won’t let them go from being your friend. I’ve had many instances where friendship seemed impossible to evade. Sometimes, it can be good, other times bad. Yet, the one relationship that I think of like this, is definitely one of my closest friendships to date. Because she wouldn’t accept that I didn’t want to be friends. She simply put her foot in the door and said, I’m going to have dinner with you one way or another.
