Harrow the benevolent tabby cat came from dubious beginnings. At the time of his rescue, he was battle-scarred and hungry, with a host of health concerns. Through all his hardships though, he remained optimistic and friendly with the kind humans who rescued him. He’s been in a loving foster home for a while now and is healthy and happy.
The affectionate elderly tabby loves nothing more than getting loves from his foster family – with one exception: He adores orphaned kittens. When a kitten is separated from his or her littermates and mother, the effect of being solo for the first time can be intensely profound, frightening, and disorienting for the tiny feline.
Harrow seems to understand the importance of feline socialization to the little waifs and he makes it his mission to help them through their crucial early separation phase. It’s clear that he does it not just for the orphaned babies though. He truly loves them, deriving intense satisfaction from their needy snuggles.
After the happy losses – through adoption – of his little feline buddies, leaving him alone again in foster care, he misses the sweet little bundles of fur and purr, and Harrow waits patiently for another lonely baby to arrive, welcoming the newcomer enthusiastically with his cuddles and purrs. Affable grandpa cat Harrow has found his calling.
