Katie and John Black have been fostering and rescuing dogs for years. One of their most surprising experiences was with a Golden Retriever named Rosie.
When they brought Rosie in, she was also pregnant. She was sweet, adorable, and happy to live in such a loving home. Katie and John looked forward to taking care of some Golden puppies.
Rosie gave birth, and the four puppies did not look like what they expected. Their fur was black and white, and they looked like tiny cows. They were named Daisy, Clarabelle, Betsy, and Moo.
In some photos, Rosie looks happy and confused as she takes care of her pups that look nothing like her. They even ran a DNA test on baby Moo and found no Golden Retriever heritage to be seen even on Rosie.
The DNA test isn’t perfect, but it shows that they were wrong about Rosie’s breed. She has a great mix of all kinds of dogs. Not that it mattered to them, but it was interesting to know.
Eventually, Rosie got tired while taking care of the pups, and she had the help of Katie and John. When she couldn’t produce enough milk, the Blacks stepped in to feed the hungry puppies.
It was tiring but fulfilling work. John loved to cuddle and hold the puppies in his arms, and they grew incredibly quickly. Rosie was a happy and thankful mother.
