The Captain is a cat who works at the Port Lavaca Police Department. He acts as a supervisor and makes sure everyone is doing what they need to do, at least most of the time.
He acts differently with various officers during all hours of the working day. With Colin, the Chief of Police, The Captain will put his paws on Colin’s shoulders while he works.
There is a lieutenant who The Captain will visit and walk across her computer to stop her from working. He definitely has a bit of attitude at times.
For another lieutenant, The Captain will sit on his chair and stay there. He looks out for them, and he always knew his job from the beginning. The Captain was there during Hurricane Harvey.
His presence helped lift the spirits of the officers in the department. The Captain had come after Colin mentioned getting a cat for the office. He remembered from his childhood that a feed store had a giant senior cat.
The Captain gives the office a friendly hometown feel. People have come to the office specifically to visit The Captain. Colin says it is nice to have people come when they have nothing to report.
Having a cat in the office has positively impacted those who work there and the small-town community that they have. The Captain has brought joy to everyone around him and takes his job very seriously.
