Kristin and Jay adopted two adorable puppies, Oakley and Aspen, from their friends who run a rescue center. Their hope is to have the puppies eventually become protectors of the animals at Ziggy’s Refuge Farm Sanctuary.
The sanctuary is home to more than 70 farm animals. They utilize guardian dogs because they love all the animals and want to keep them safe. Kristin and Jay introduced Oakley and Aspen to the friends they spent most of their time with.
Willie, a pug, was a little apprehensive about the puppies at first. Ziggy, the pig, was the king of the farm, and he gave Oakley and Aspen a warm welcome.
Kristin and Jay’s plan was to have fun with the puppies before showing them the ropes. Then they learned that Oakley and Aspen had two unique personalities. Oakley is very dominant, while Aspen is a sweet little angel.
Both puppies are extraordinarily clumsy, and as they mature, they will be integrated into the chores. The first time they joined Jay in his morning routine, it was fun and chaotic.
Jay and Kristin learned to have more patience. Oakley and Aspen haven’t caught on to the routine as they are easily distracted by themselves and the other animals.
The puppies mess pretty often, but they are slowly catching on. It means a lot to Kristin and Jay that they can take in animals and give them a forever home where they can live their best lives.
