Bagel was a kitten found shivering in the shrubs, and she transformed into a healthy and happy furball. Nikki Martinez rescued Bagel along with her two siblings, Pancake and Spud.
The kittens were frozen, and Nikki held them up to the car vents to warm them up. When they arrived home, Nikki placed them in a bin with a heat source.
Bagel was the smallest of the three, and she didn’t want to eat. Nikki thought she would lose Bagel, but she refused to give up.
Even if Nikki had to run errands, she took the kittens with her. They had to be fed every four hours, and she let them eat in the car if they were on the road.
Nikki tried to give Bagel a bottle every day until she finally latched onto it. Bagel was eating on her own, and Nikki was so excited. Then Bagel moved on to wet food and always made a mess.
Spud, Pancake, and Bagel follow Nikki everywhere because she’s the only mom they know. Nikki started crying when she was thinking about their adoption day.
Bagel will always have a piece of Nikki’s heart. She says it is difficult to give them up, but she does it so she can have space in her home for others who need her.
