Betsy the Pit Bull came from a horrible situation. Her gentle nature kept her from fulfilling the purpose of the evil people from her past, so they turned her into a bait dog to train other fighters. Eventually, she was rescued, but by then her wounds were so extensive she needed multiple surgeries and veterinarians worried she might succumb to infection.
However, Betsy was a different kind of fighter. She wanted to fight for a good life that transcended the nightmare of her past. She fought through her pain and made it to the other side of it. Remarkably, even after her cruel beginnings, the intrepid Pit Bull learned to trust humans again.
Betsy’s valiant and open heart impressed everyone with whom she came into contact, and eventually, she was ready to transition to the next, and best phase of her life. She was ready to share her recovered body and generous soul with a new family who would love her the way she had always deserved to be loved.
A family fell in love with Betsy, the dog with the plucky spirit, and brought her out of her life at the shelter to a new life with a canine sibling and children to shower her with affection. Now she enjoys running on their large property and going along on all kinds of adventures. Betsy is finally home where she belongs.
