Despite their common canine ancestry, at first glance, this tiny Chihuahua pup and this immense American Bulldog seem like an odd couple. In fact, puppy is about half the size of its counterpart’s head. Apart from their obvious size differential is a clear disparity in age and energy.
Yet somehow these two make their friendship work. Perhaps the Bulldog remembers that early carefree time as a puppy and the Chihuahua helps him (or her) maintain a young-at-heart attitude. For a human comparison, imagine Shaquille O’Neal playing basketball with a toddler. How adorable would that be?
The baby Chihuahua finds many parts of the Bulldog to use as proxy chew toys and the latter doesn’t seem to mind one bit. The adult dog seems impervious to any pain from those tiny puppy teeth, maybe similar to how Shaq would feel the little toddler trying hard to beat him up in a mock play-fight.
These two will likely continue their friendship for a very long time to come, with little notice of, or concern about, the dissimilarities we notice as humans. Their amiable frolic should be an inspiration to all humans not only to tolerate the differences of others, but to embrace them.
