Dogs are social animals. The worst possible way for a dog to live is chained up alone in all kinds of weather with little to no interaction. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals found Buster in exactly this situation and convinced his owners to relinquish him so that he could have the happy life he deserved.
When he was rescued, the sweet-mannered dog suffered various health problems that had previously gone unaddressed, including the offending chain itself, which was so tight around his neck that it had embedded into his skin.
Despite the way he had been treated, Buster remained gentle and trusting toward humans. His good-natured demeanor paid off, and PETA found a loving new home for the previously neglected dog.
Buster’s new family, in contrast with the people who kept him isolated and chained, promise to give him plenty of pampering, love, treats, and toys. No more chains, no more outdoor banishment or forced exposure to the elements. Buster is finally home, living the blissful life he deserves.
