Two feral cats named Sad Boy and Lola restored Courtney’s faith in relationships by showing their unbreakable bond. Lola is the protector and jumps in front of Sad Boy like she is a bodyguard blocking him from the paparazzi.
A year ago, Courtney saw Sad Boy in her yard. She went outside and looked up to see a massive white cat staring down at her. Sad Boy was calm but not friendly.
Sad Boy kept his distance, and it was clear to Courtney that he wouldn’t prefer an indoor life. The first time she saw Lola was in her neighbor’s yard. She got Lola spayed, and Lola visited more regularly.
Courtney managed to trap Lola and hand her over to a foster. They had no idea Sad Boy and Lola were bonded at the time. If they did, they would have never separated them.
For a few weeks, Lola started to deteriorate. Sad Boy stopped grooming himself and looked like a mess. Courtney was worried about Lola, and when they released her, Sad Boy was waiting for her.
The following day Sad Boy was bright white once again. Lola had spent all night cleaning him. Every day when Courtney feeds them, Sad Boy makes sure Lola eats first.
They do everything together, from watching the sunset to watching the stars. When one gets up to walk, the other will follow. It is thanks to them that Courtney believes in love again.
