Brave Veteran Reunites With Precious Military Dog and Adopts Him

When someone is serving our military, their daily life can be hard to get through. Something as simple as a call from home or a package from a loved one can make their day. One soldier found hope in a military dog serving alongside him.

Marine Corporal Aaron Stice served in the Marines with a dog named Keaton. They were close friends up until Keaton had to retire due to injuries from battle. Stice and the selfless dog spent seven months apart before they were reunited.

Aaron’s friend Corporal Keaton Coffey was killed while they were on deployment in Afghanistan. Stice named the dog after his fallen friend, so when they were separated, it was like losing Coffey all over again.

Thankfully, Aaron was able to adopt Keaton for good. He mentions that the dog wasn’t the easiest to train and that there were behavioral issues that were challenging. Now, the two are inseparable and have never had a stronger bond.
