Rescue dog isn’t too bright, but he helps heal a broken heart

Greta wouldn’t say her Pit Bull, Duncan is the brightest, but he does make her laugh more than anything in the world. Before Greta adopted Duncan from the shelter, she lost her dog.

She was advised to wait before getting a new dog, and she didn’t want to do that. Duncan was given a home, and Greta’s broken heart started to heal.

He was found as a stray and kept at animal control in the Northern suburbs of Chicago. Greta states that Duncan was rough around the edges, and there were rumors that his previous owner wasn’t very friendly to Duncan.

As Duncan felt more at home with Greta and her 22-year-old cat, he showed how silly he was. He loves to eat rain and snow and drink from an actual water fountain.

When Greta tried to get Duncan to swim, he didn’t want to at all. He confused her with his specific water habits. Duncan also prefers the company of people over dogs.

After Greta’s cat passed away, Duncan was heartbroken. Greta decided to adopt a kitten named Coco Bubbles, and she became Duncan’s cat. They were best friends as soon as she came home.

Coco Bubbles and Duncan love to snuggle and play softly. They even know not to mess with each other’s toys. Greta started to consider calling Duncan smart after all.
