Winston, the dog, was an adorable but fragile puppy that sometimes looked like a little kangaroo. Lauren was told by the veterinarian that he had a missing sternum, and his chest was not protected.
That meant he couldn’t play with his siblings because he could be injured. Lauren felt bad because Winston didn’t have a friend that he could play with.
Fortunately, a pig named Wilma came into their lives. She was found wandering on the side of the road, and when she met Winston, they instantly connected.
Wilma was small and acted like another puppy, so Lauren wasn’t worried that she would be able to injure Winston. All they wanted to do was play, sleep, and eat.
Lauren fed them treats side by side, and she brought a ball pit out for them to play in together. Winston and Wilma were best friends, and it was difficult when Wilma started to grow larger.
She had to spend more time outside and away from Winston because she was big enough to hurt him. Lauren made a stuffed toy and named it Wilma to give Winston some temporary company.
Winston’s life changed when he finally got a chest protector. He was able to play with Wilma and his other dog siblings. It is pure joy for Lauren when she sees them hanging out together. All she wants is for them to live their best lives.
