Audrey rescues a rooster named Bradley, who wakes her up at 4:30 a.m. Two months ago, she got a message about a rooster that was abandoned in a cardboard box.
Since roosters never lay eggs, no one wants to keep them. Bradley was cold and thin, and his comb was pale. Audrey could tell he was struggling, and she took him inside and cuddled with him.
Bradley melted into her and fell asleep on her lap. Audrey knew that he would be okay. He came out of his shell, and the bathroom was his favorite place.
Audrey saw that Bradley likes to be up high, and she will always find him on the shower curtain rod. She loves it when she crows early in the morning, and Audrey got so used to it she doesn’t even hear it anymore.
Bradley is also a very cuddle bird. He loves to lay with her, and they fall asleep together. Audrey gives him wattle massages which Bradley absolutely adores. If she’s lucky, he will make a sound like a purr.
It was an indescribable gift for Audrey to see him flourish and grow. She gets a little emotional when her babies graduate from the living room to being outside.
Bradley was at a good weight, and he had all his feathers back. He joined the other birds of the flock and started to get acclimated with them. Audrey believes that he will soon be the alpha.
