Koda, the dog, recovered physically from her accident, but she needed emotional support, which she got from Pickle, a Tuxedo kitten. Brooke got the call about Koda’s accident while she was at work.

A car had hit Koda, and she was never the same. The vet said one of her legs was intact but paralyzed, so Koda couldn’t feel it. Therapy helped her walk again, but she barely ate or interacted with other people or dogs.
Even if Koda was physically fine a few months later, she was emotionally shut down. Brooke knew that Koda needed a companion that was small and not intimidating. Then she saw a picture of Pickle wearing a bowtie.

When Pickle met Koda for the first time, he was unphased while Koda was confused. Pickle was very persistent, and he always fought for Koda’s affection. Brooke was thrilled when they started to play together.
Koda saw Pickle as a puppy, and Pickle saw her as a mother figure. Pickle has definitely helped Koda come out of her shell again, and they are never apart.

Brooke says that Pickle is actually Koda’s service cat because he takes care of her. He has been her crutch and support through everything. Brooke believes they like each other more than they like her.
She will often find them cuddling together in the corner of the house, away from everyone. Pickle has had such a significant impact on Brooke and Koda’s life.
