Irene and Matt were surprised to find two puppies, Lilly and Mira, by their porch one day. The two dogs were sisters, and Lilly was left behind when Mira ran away in fear.
Lilly was blind, and Matt had never been around a dog that couldn’t see. He treated her with lots of love and care. Lilly didn’t know what to do and hid in a corner.
Over two to three weeks, Lilly slowly came out of her shell. She ran in the yard for a bit, and Matt constantly watched Lilly, ensuring she didn’t fall.
Lilly’s tail came up more and more every day, showing that she was more comfortable and confident. Then a few days later, Irene gets a call from her neighbor about a dog in their barn.
Mira disappeared as soon as they tried to find her. They were surprised Lilly’s sibling returned, and they were able to catch her. Lilly went straight to Mira.
It was a heartwarming reunion as Mira was all over Lilly, and Lilly was all over her sister the next day. They were overjoyed to be together once again.
Matt has never had an experience like Mira and Lilly in all his years of rescuing dogs. Irene is focused on making sure Mira and Lilly are adopted together when they move to a new home.
