Persistent Homeless Kitten Earns His Spot in Foster Care

Ginger tabby kitten “Red” knows the keys to win his way with humans he meets. First, be cute to get their attention, and next, charm them with sweet purring and nuzzling. Those were the tactics he used when Ariana and her mother first made his acquaintance outside their Brooklyn, New York home.

The mother-daughter pair offered him a can of cat food from inside their house. The little stray accepted the gift and finished it greedily. Once finished, he thanked Ariana with a cuddle and a purr, and then followed her up to her porch. The two spent time there cuddling together, the ginger moggy purring and licking her face.

Ariana and her mom knew that with three cats already living in their house they simply could not accommodate another, so they reached out to some rescue organizations in their area. The following morning, they heard back from rescue Flatbush Cats, who offered to help.

The rescue found a suitable foster home for Red, who seemingly approved of his new foster mom immediately, climbing into her lap and lavishing his sweet purrs on her. In fact, filling laps appears to be the sociable kitten’s favorite activity. When Red is ready for adoption, following his necessary veterinary visits, he hopes to find a family that offers plenty of lap time for which he can exchange his love and the rumble of his purring.
