Jason is a policeman who has a great relationship with Sonny, his police dog. Sonny is always there to listen to Jason and seems to understand everything he is going through.
At work, Sonny is very professional, as most German Shepherds are. When they go home, Sonny knows it is family time. Jason had a daughter with his wife, Lainey, and he wasn’t sure how Sonny would react.
There wasn’t any reason to be nervous, though, because Sonny let baby Reagan do anything to him. She would pull his ears, paws, nose, tail, and he wouldn’t even get mad at her.
Jason said it was a humbling experience watching his dog and daughter get along so well. Sonny was an independent dog who had his own space where he liked to be alone.
After Reagan was born, Sonny always chose to be close to her. He was a toy-driven dog who would never give the ball back to Jason in the five years they played together.
Without uttering a single word, Reagan can get any toy back from Sonny. When the two of them are together, they are always smiling and laughing.
Lainey once found Reagan quietly staring at a picture of Sonny and her dad while Jason was at work. It was a heartwarming sight. They are expecting another baby and can’t wait to see how Sonny and Reagan will adjust.
