Ubaldo heard scratching outside the front door, and he found a tiny puppy sheltering herself from the rain. He went back inside to get her some dog food, and she happily accepted it.
The puppy didn’t let him get close to her at first, but once Ubaldo started petting her, she trusted him. He had no idea where she came from, and he wanted to find her owner.
After making sure she was fed, he posted pictures of her online, asking if anyone recognized her. Ubaldo asked his parents if they could keep her inside, but they refused because they were only allowed to have one pet.
They didn’t want to get caught with another dog because the owner of their house lived next door. Ubaldo’s dog, Rocky, was jealous and disliked their puppy guest.
Later that evening, he snuck the puppy into the house while his parents were asleep because he didn’t want her to be out in the cold alone.
She was curious, and Ubaldo kept her in the bathroom to keep her quiet. Before taking her to the vet, he got a message from someone who could possibly be the puppy’s owner.
The story checked out, and Ubaldo played with the puppy one last time before meeting with the owner. He found out the puppy’s name was Bubba, and he misses her, but he is glad that she is back home.
