When Nicole and Matthew saw a smiling puppy in a shelter, they knew they had to adopt her as soon as possible. The puppy was found on the side of the main highways and was close to being hit.
As soon as they saw the puppy, they realized how cute she was. Her eyes lit up, and they named her Layla. She burrowed her head into Nicole’s neck, and Nicole’s heart melted.
Then they took her home, and Layla met her new dog siblings. Layla felt at home right away, and she bit at the collar of another dog, Lady.
A furball named Sadie ignored Layla at first and pretended like she didn’t exist. But sure enough, Sadie and Layla became best pals, and they were rarely seen apart.
Brutus, the biggest dog in the house, took the longest to warm up to Layla. He wasn’t used to sharing his bed, and Layla loved to curl up right next to him.
Nicole knew that Layla would have no trouble fitting in. Layla steals all of Lady’s toys, and she also makes the strangest noises. She is slowly learning how to be a dog, and she is still quite clumsy.
Whenever Matthew arrives home, Layla will greet him by jumping on his legs, stretching out, and giving him her signature smile. Nicole and Matthew adore cute little animals that need their help.
