Snickers the donkey has a best friend and brother, a 3-year-old boy named Gunnar. They have become inseparable, and Snickers follows Gunnar around like he’s part of his herd.
Gunnar’s mother, Damaris, brought Snickers in when he needed a new place to stay. Snickers immediately felt at home. A fence was placed around Snickers’ enclosure, where Snickers and Gunnar first bonded.
Snickers put his head next to the fence, and Gunnar started petting him through it. It wasn’t long before they gave each other kisses on the nose.
Gunnar learned to be independent even at such a young age. He loves to do chores like clean his tiny wheelbarrow and give Snickers grain when he’s hungry.
Damaris has noticed that Snickers loves their company and attention, especially when it comes from Gunnar. Whenever they are nearby, Snickers will cry out loud for them.
Their pair have an incredible amount of energy, but when they are together, they find a unique calmness. Damaris cannot get over how cute they are. Gunnar even loves to brush Snickers’ fur.
Snickers is much bigger and stronger than Gunnar, so he can protect his little brother. That may be why he always follows him around to keep a watchful eye on him.
